The NAIA released its third 2013 Softball Coaches’ Top 25 poll of the season yesterday, with Auburn Montgomery rising to sixth after a 3-1 Southern States Athletic Conference road trip.
Prior to yesterday’s doubleheader sweep to Faulkner, the Warhawks had won 12 of their last 13 games, and 25 of 27 overall. AUM received 488 total points in this week’s release.
Concordia (Calif.) remains in the top spot, earning 590 points and 19 of 21 first place votes. Cal State San Marcos, Lubbock Christian, Lee and Williams Baptist round out the top five. Lubbock Christian received the other two first place votes. Rogers State, which had previously been third, dropped to seventh this week.
The SSAC continues to lead all conferences with seven teams represented in the rankings. William Carey (No. 10), Brenau (No. 14), Belhaven (No. 16), Mobile (No. 22) and Spring Hill (No. 24) join Lee and AUM.
