District 3 Congressman Mike Rogers responded to President Barack Obama's State of the Union address with the following statement:

"I can only hope the Democratic-controlled Senate and President Obama will not stand in the way of common sense efforts to get our nation's economic and fiscal house in order."

Roby reacts to Obama's State of the Union

District 2 Congresswoman Martha Roby issued the following statement after President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address on Tuesday night:

"President Obama has repeatedly stated his intent to rein in spending actions, however, actions speak louder than words. And what we have seen over the last two years are record deficits averaging more than a trillion dollars annually."

Wetumpka City Council members approved a resolution Monday night allowing the Alabama De part ment of Transportation’s Aeronautics Division to conduct a feasibility study involving the Wetumpka Municipal Airport. The study will determine the costs and benefits of either improving the existing Wetumpka Municipal Airport or developing a new airport for west Elmore County capable of serving corporate aircraft traffic
