OK man who protested Wetumpka's Creek casino remains in jail | News

WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA)- The protestor who is accused of making a terrorist threat against the Creek casino in Wetumpka remains in jail after being arrested Friday.

Wayland Gray was among approximately one dozen protestors who showed up at the construction site of the $246 million construction site Friday to show their disagreement with the expansion.

The protestors say the casino is building on what they consider 'sacred' burial grounds.

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians are in the midst of a major expansion and have insisted that all Native Americans who were buried on the property were re-buried on another spot of land and a prayer ceremony was conducted over them.

Gray and 3 other protestors were arrested after they went onto the property and expressed their displeasure. Tribal police arrested each, charging them with trespassing, and Gray's terrorist threat.

Gray remains in the county jail under a $30,000 bond.
