Humane Society of Elmore County News – 21 Jan ‘12
Hoping for a packed house this Saturday, 26 January from 6-10 pm, Wishbone Studio, 2625 Zelda Road, Montgomery! Two awesome bands, Wishbone & Free Flight, will be playing Classic Southern Rock to benefit our shelter and animals! This is a wonderful opportunity to raise funds for our shelter and a great chance for all of us fellow animal loving shelter supporters to get together for an evening of music and fun! This is a non-smoking, family friendly live music venue (not a bar) showcasing some of the hottest local and regional acts around. Bring your own bottle or cooler full, even chair if the place is packed. Tickets are available in advance for only $10 by responding to “Wishbone Studios welcomes Free Flight” Facebook Event, our shelter Facebook ‘Event’ announcement, or by calling/texting Rick at 334-782-6057; tickets will be $15 at the door on the 26th.
After a fun night this Saturday, we then hope those who would like to volunteer with our shelter will join us for Volunteer Training on Sunday, 27 January ’13 from 1-4 pm at Santuck Baptist Church Community Center, Hwy 9, Santuck (nine miles north of the shelter). You can find out about volunteering in the shelter, in our Thrift Store, at our various events, in education, as a foster and more. Don’t worry – you can stop in, find out what interests you and head on for any other plans you may have.
And we still have tickets for your chance to win $10,000 at our 4th Annual “Getting Down with the Dawgs” Draw Down on Saturday, 23 February 2013! With the purchase of a $100 ticket you will have a 1 in 300 opportunity to win $10,000; OR a week’s stay for FOUR at Mountain Loft Resort in Gatlinburg, TN (lodging only); OR, a week’s stay for SIX at Paradise Isle Resort in Gulf Shores, AL (lodging only); OR other great door prizes! Besides a chance to win big, each ticket holder and guest will also get a delicious buffet dinner and beverages at Bonnie Crest Country Club, 1410 Federal Drive, Montgomery! Doors will open at 5 pm, dinner begins at 6 pm and the Drawdown starts at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale at the shelter so don’t delay – get your ticket(s) now or buy one as a gift! Additional meals can be purchased for $20. Another thought is to purchase a ticket for a business or other organization as they could surely put $10,000 to good use if they were the big winner! For all the details go to our website at www.elmorehumane.org, call us at 334-567-3377 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
A couple of weeks ago H&R Block in Wetumpka held an Open House and Supply Drive for our shelter! We want to thank H&R Block and all who came out to help for thinking of us like this as donated supplies truly help us conserve our funds to help injured or sick animals that need more than basic care.
We greatly appreciate all who support our work to help homeless and unwanted animals. Last year we were able to help 1558 deserving pets find new homes and promise to work as hard in 2013 to find loving homes for as many of our pets as we possibly can.
