WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) - The event was a fun way to enjoy the season of Halloween and help those suffering from breast cancer at the same time.
Wetumpka Health & Rehabilitation hosted a contest Thursday night called the Pink Pumpkin Contest for a good cause.
Community members were asked to decorate a pink pumpkin and bring it to the facility. All the money raised was donated to Joy to Life. Joy Blondheim from Joy to Life was also at the event.
Event coordinators say the three pumpkins that raised the most money were given the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, places spots and prizes were awarded to the three top pumpkins decorators.
Wetumpka Health & Rehabilitation is a skilled nursing facility that specializes in long-term care, short term inpatient rehabilitation, and Alzheimer's and dementia care.
The facility is a 5 star rated facility by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
